Discussion on the Development of the National Reserve Forest Based on Chinese Timber Market
Large-diameter timber is one of the important strategic resources,and the national reserve forest is an important measure for China to construct strategic timber reserve base.Based on the data onwood produc-tion,wood import,and wood demand in the 12 years from 2010 to 2021,we analyzed and forecasted the trend of wood supply and demand based on the current supply and demandstatus of the domestic timber market.The results showed that in recent years,with the continuous development of the social economy,the overall demand for wood had an upward trend.Limited by the shortage of total domestic wood,there was more small-diameter wood compared to the production of large-diameter timber.The national reserve forest is an important project tar-geted to improve the quality of forests,which plays an important role in solving the task of wood supply and achieving carbon neutrality.Our article put forward suggestions on the development strategy of the national reserve forest,aimed to provide a reference for the construction of the national forest reserve bases in various places.
