Monitoring and Analysis of Wild Terrestrial Vertebrate Diversity with Infrared Camera Traps Technology in Dongguan
To grasp the current situation of wild terrestrial vertebrate resources in Dongguan,52 infrared camera traps were set up in four representative forest parks in Dongguan,Guangdong Province, and the diversity of wild terrestrial vertebrates in Dongguan was monitored by infrared camera data from April to November 2023.The results were as follows:(1)616 independent and effective photos were taken by the infrared camera, including 3 orders,5 families and 5 species of mammals,6 orders,1 1 families and 15 species of birds, and 1 order,1 family and 2 species of reptiles.(2)As far as the species relative abundance index,Sus scrofa(IRA=55.52)and Prionailurus bengalensis(IRA=9.74)ranked the top two in the relative abundance index of mammals;the top two birds relative abundance index were Myophonus caeruleus(IRA=8.93)and Garrulax pectoralis(IRA=3.90);the species relative abundance indexes of reptiles were all 0.16.(3)In terms of fauna, birds and mammals are mostly Oriental realm species, accounting for 93.33%and 60.00%of the total species,respectively.(4)Activity rhythm analysis showed that Sus scrofa,Myophonus caeruleus, and Lophura nycthemera were diurnal animals and had multiple daily activity peaks in the daytime, while Prionailurus bengalensis and Melogale moschata were nocturnal animals.
