Preparation and properties of waterborne hyperbranched polyurethane acrylate emulsion
A waterborne hyperbranched polyurethane acrylate(WHPUA-n)emulsion was synthesized by polytetrahydrofuran glycol(PTMG-1000),isophorone diisocyanate(IPDI),pentaerythritol triacrylate(PETA)and hydroxyl-terminated hyperbranched polyester(HBP-OH).The chemical structures of WHPUA-n were characterized by FT-IR and 1H NMR.The influence of the molecular weight of HBP-OH on the properties of WHPUA-n emulsion and cured films was studied. The results showed that HBP-OH significantly improved the stability and comprehensive properties of emulsion. With the increase in molecular weight of HBP-OH,the viscosity of emulsion first decreased and then increased. The toughness, wear resistance, water resistance and heat resistance of the emulsion cured films first increased and then decreased. The emulsion prepared by medium molecular weight HBP-OH(H102)showed the best comprehensive performance. The WHPUA-n emulsion demonstrated good stability, uniform particle size, good glossiness, high hardness, high adhesion, excellent water resistance and great potential in the field of waterborne coatings.
