The chemical constituents of 70%ethanol extract of Prunus mume Sieb.were isolated and purified by HP-20 macroporous resin column chromatography,semipreparative high performance liquid chromatography,and other separation methods to afford 14 pure compounds.By using NMR,MS and other modern spectral techniques,the structures of the compounds were identified as 5-hydroxymethyl-furfural(1),prunasin(2),Z-p-hydroxy-cinnamic acid(3),E-p-hydroxy-cinnamic acid(4),chlorogenic acid(5),citric acid(6),monoethyl citrate(7),pyrocatechol(8),protocatechualdehyde(9),protocatechuic acid(10),neochlorogenic acid(11),caffeic acid(12),kaempferol(13),and apigenin(14).Compounds 2-4 and 8-9 were isolated from P.mume for the first time.All compounds isolated from P.mume have good sensory activity at appropriate usage,which can improve the taste of cigarettes.
