In order to achieve accurate fault location of hybrid lines in distribution network,it is proposed that a method combining traveling wave polarity judgment and single-end fault location extraction.Firstly, based on the method of wavelet transform mode maximum, the polarity of traveling wave current in different sections was calculated, and the interval where the fault point was located was determined. Then, the traveling wave velocity in the fault interval was calculated by simulation, and the wave head time was extracted based on wavelet transform to realize the fault location of the hybrid line. Finally,a hybrid line fault model was built on the 10 kV dynamic model test platform, and the positioning accuracy of different influencing factors was studied. The results show that when the sampling frequency and initial fault phase Angle increase, the positioning accuracy will gradually increase. When the fault section is power cable, the positioning accuracy is better than that of the fault section of the overhead line. The method presented in this paper can accurately achieve fault location, and has a certain extension significance.
