Zheng Shiqi Tea improves β Cell damage and glucose and lipid metabolism disorder in type 2 diabetic mice
To investigate the hypoglycemic and hypolipidemic effects and mechanism of Zheng Shiqi Tea(ZSQT),a type 2 diabetes(T2DM)model was induced by feeding high-sugar and fat diets and intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin in 40 successfully modeled mice, which were randomly divided into the model group, metformin group, and high, medium,&low dose groups of ZSQT.In addition,8 normal control mice were set up and orally administered for 3 weeks.Body weight and fasting blood glucose were measured weekly, and glucose tolerance tests were performed after administration to calculate the area under the blood glucose curve.Serum total cholesterol,triglycerides,low-density lipoprotein,high-density lipoprotein, aspartate aminotransferase, and alanine aminotransferase levels were determined. The liver and pancreas tissue morphology was analyzed by hematoxylin-eosin staining, and the relative densities of α and β cells in pancreatic tissue were detected by immunofluorescence staining.Network pharmacology was used to predict potential targets and signaling pathways for T2DM treatment with ZSQT.The results show that ZSQT has a good hypoglycemic and hypolipidemic effect, can repair liver and pancreatic damage, and increase the number of pancreatic β cells, and its mechanism is related to signaling pathways such as lipid and atherosclerosis.
