A Study on the Psychological Status of Adolescents in Different Disaster Areas in Sichuan after the Yibin Earthquake
The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD)tendencies,depression,and emotional regulation strategies among adolescents in multiple different disas-ter areas in Sichuan after the Yibin earthquake.The aim is to provide relevant scientific basis and policy recom-mendations for schools and communities to further improve mental health education for adolescents related to the earthquake as a public crisis,including early prevention,psychological intervention,and reconstruction of psycho-logical crises.This study used the Symptom Checklist for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder,the Depression Scale for Epidemic Investigation Center,and the Chinese version of the Emotional Regulation Strategy Scale.Two weeks after the Yibin earthquake,a sampling survey was conducted on 1007 students from five high schools in Wench-uan,Yibin,and Chengdu,and related studies were conducted.The conclusions drawn include that the Yibin earth-quake has caused varying degrees of psychological impact on adolescents in different disaster areas of Sichuan,and the use of emotion regulation strategies has a significant positive intervention effect on post-traumatic stress disorder and depression.This study proposes that adolescents in different earthquake stricken areas may experi-ence varying degrees of psychological problems.Schools and communities should promptly conduct psychologi-cal assessments of students and implement specific post earthquake psychological assistance and reconstruction work.
