Through political cultural approach,this article analyzes Myanmar's political culture and its effects on the democratic transition.Myanmar's political culture includes the ideals of liberal democracy and constitution-alism,as well as tolerance and non-violence.The former is influenced by the political legacy of British colonial rule,while the latter is derived from Theravada Buddhism,which has great influence in Myanmar.Myanmar's po-litical culture has shaped the country's political transition along a gradual path with minimal social impact and dis-ruption.Despite the setbacks of Myanmar's current political transition,its political culture continues to play a role in influencing political actors.
