The Impact of Perceived Social Support on Academic Burnout among College Students:The mediating role of cognitive reappraisal and self-control
To explore the mediating role of cognitive reappraisal and self-control ability in the relationship between perceived social support and academic burnout,339 college students were tested using the perceived so-cial support scale,college student academic burnout scale,emotion regulation strategy questionnaire,and self-control scale.The results of latent variable modeling indicate that:①the level of perceived social support among college students significantly negatively predicts their level of academic burnout;②Cognitive reappraisal plays a mediating role in understanding the relationship between social support and academic burnout;③Self control ability plays a mediating role in understanding the relationship between social support and academic burnout;④Cognitive reappraisal and self-control play a chain mediating role in understanding the role of social support in academic burnout.
