Investigation on the Metal-free Catalyzed Synthesis of β-Substituted Thioethers
In this work, two different types of β-substituted thioethers are synthesized with high yields from simple alkenes and thiophenols. The products of this reaction could be controlled by the solvent. When anhydrous acetonitrile was used as the solvent,β-chloro-substituted thioethers were obtained in medium to high yields. When using dimethyl sulfoxide,β-hydroxyl-substituted thioethers generated alternatively. Moreover, this novel approach features the advantages of wide substrate scope, good functional group tolerance, simple operation, and mild response conditions.
