The Spatio-temporal Differentiation Characteristics and Cultural Tourism Integration Path of Existing Ancient Pagodas in China
Based on the theory of cultural heritage revitalization, this study establishes a database of ancient pagodas, analyzes the spatial and temporal characteristics of the existing pagodas and their development paths by using spatial analysis and mathematical statistics. It is found that:1. The development of ancient pagodas can be divided into three phases:from the Eastern Han Dynasty to the early years of the Tang Dynasty when they were in the ascendant;through the Tang Dynasty, from the Two Songs Dynasties to the Liao and Jin Dynasties when they were unprecedentedly prosperous;and through the Yuan Dynasty, from the Ming Dynasty to the Qing Dynas-ty when they were steadily developing. 2. In terms of spatial quantity, there is a big difference in the number of existing pagodas built in different periods in China, and the overall pattern of"scattering and grouping"coexists. 3.As to spatial density characteristics, the spatial distribution density is"dense in the east and sparse in the west"block layout, and the provincial pattern is"multi-core and block-like coexistence"distribution pattern. 4. In spa-tial type characteristics, the distribution of various types of ancient pagodas is more clustered with different func-tions and layouts, and the number of pavilion-type pagodas is large and widely distributed. 5. In development path,we put forward the use of"culture tourism+"mode of new development path, and provide new opportuni-ties for the pagodas cultural tourism integration path through the"culture tourism+tourism products","culture tourism+research and sightseeing","cultural tourism+ancient experiences".
