As a representative song of the early development of Guangdong music,"Rain Beats Plantain"has been produced for about a hundred years. The historical question of whether it has a writer and the time of its for-mation has always been one of the more concerned questions in the academic circle. Through textual research on the formation,development and dissemination of its music score,and comparative analysis of the historical envi-ronment,this paper believes that the emergence of a classic work not only needs continuous accumulation and cy-clic waves,but also needs continuous promotion of highly accomplished musicians in the formation process,so as to become more and more mature. The He family,represented by He Bozhong and He Liutang,made a vital contribution to the formation and development of Guangdong music"Rain Beats Plantain".
