A large number of exhibits serving cognition have emerged in the history of museum collections. The thematic exhibition formed by the collection of these exhibits aims to help people understand a certain event, phenomenon,or process.Explaining the exhibits is a necessary task to help the audience understand the exhibition, and it is also the core task of exhibition planning and design.Interpretation work can be carried out at two levels:individual and group. When interpreting individual exhibits, the main challenge is to overcome the difficulties that arise from the concealment of information and the non-time consuming expression of physical exhibits in dissemination. In addition to symbolization, visualization of connotation and context, and the injection of time dimensions into exhibition items are effective methods for solving communication difficulties. The grouping of exhibits can be achieved through classification and narrative techniques, both of which have good explanatory functions, and can effectively explain individuals in the collection.
