Minsk Methodological School and the Turn of the Post-Soviet Philosophy of Science
The Minsk methodological school is a school of philosophy of science founded by Academician V.S.Stepin of the Soviet(Russia)Academy of Sciences,which represents the highest level of philosophy of science in the Soviet Union of 1970s-1980s.The historical premise of the birth of the Minsk methodological school is the developed natural science,that is,the high-level mathematical and physical sciences and their higher education system con-stitute the main landscape of Belarusian social culture at that time.By investigating the establishment and development history of the Minsk methodological school as a specific social cognitive phenomenon,this paper expounds the leading role played by Academician V.S.Stepin in the formation and consoli-dation of the first generation of research teams.This paper focuses on the analysis of the sociocultural determination of science and its interpretation.These problems are first explained in the study of Minsk methodology school.The Minsk methodology school still has a wide influence on the Post-Soviet philos-ophy of science.Under the background of the transformation from industrial society to post-industrial society,the focus of research has shifted from logic-epistemology to social-culturalism,rethinking the status and role of science in post-modern culture.
