Transcending"Substantialist"and"Relationalist"Perspectives:An Ecological Ontological Study on the"Community of Life"
Previous studies in ecological ontology have presented two distinct and mutually opposing research paradigms:one can be termed the"substan-tialist"perspective,and the other the"relationalist"perspective. The former focuses on the"entities"and their"constitution",while significantly over-looking the"relations"and their"generation";the latter, conversely, emphasizes"relations"and their"generation",while greatly undermining the im-portance of"entities"and their"constitution".The research paradigm of the"community of life"will not only maximize the absorption and utilization of the their rational aspects, thereby achieving a creative synthesis, but also strive to maximize the elimination and rectification of their dilemmas and biases, thus achieving innovative transcendence.
