Philosophy of engineering science is at the intersection of philosophy of engineering and philosophy of science.This paper summarizes the re-search progress of philosophy of engineering science,which mainly includes the overall situation of five aspects:the study of the history of engineering sci-ence thought,the study of ontological issues in engineering science,the study of epistemological issues in engineering science,the study of methodological issues in engineering science,and the study of axiological issues in engineering science.On this basis,the basic strategies and specific research methods for development of philosophy of engineering science are discussed,thereby clarifying the direction for future research in philosophy of engineering sci-ence.
