For the engineering theory of knowledge as a whole,the Chinese and Western research approaches have their own merits.There are two chal-lenges in engineering theory of knowledge:one is the internal coordination issue and the other is the external unity issue.By combining Kroes's engineer-ing theory and Li Bocong's theory of engineering science,the"Pasteur quadrant"is transformed in three dimensions,and the internal and external con-flicts of engineering knowledge theory could be resolved.The"Artificial Theory-Artificial World"knowledge map compresses the three-dimensional Pasteur's Quadrant,so that engineering knowledge and other knowledge could be described comfortably in the research of engineering knowledge theory.In the future,there would be more exchanges and encounters between theory of engineering knowledge and traditional theory of knowledge.
