Frege's Picture of Knowledge:From the View of Frege's Truth as an Object
Knowledge is closely related to truth.From the view of"Truth as an Object",the relationship among"thought""judgment""truth""knowl-edge"is clearly elucidated.Judgment as non-judgmental identification of the truth.The act of judgment to be the act of non-judgmental identification of truth qua an object with the reference of a sentence.Propositional knowledge arises from the knowledge of"truth"as an object,which is constituted by the knowledge of the capacity to identify the"truth".Frege's picture of knowledge has potential to accommodate the insights of contemporary epistemolog-ical theories,it can accommodate the JTB analysis of knowledge,provide a unique picture of our cognitive lives.Frege's picture of knowledge provides a tight connection between knowledge-how,objectual knowledge,and propositional knowledge.To some extent,it will fill explanatory gaps in Frege's knowledge.
