Ethical Concerns of AI Applications and Governance Approaches:Starting from Marx's View on Machine
There is a tension between artificial intelligence(AI)and the concept of machine as explained by Marx.On one hand,AI has achieved a com-prehensive surpassing of traditional machine in terms of structure and function.On the other hand,AI remains essentially unified with machine and has not transcended Marx's conceptual framework.The application of AI has intensified three-dimensional ethical concerns:the opposition between humans and machine,the fragmentation of family relationships,and the tension in social relations,which are more pronounced than in the era of traditional ma-chines and exhibit new characteristics under the same logic of capital.Marx's dialectical examination of machine offers numerous insights for addressing current AI ethical issues.In the complex context of interdependence and coexistence between capitalism and socialism,adhering to the"community with a shared future for mankind"concept by fostering a culture of technology for good,building"human-centered"Al,and developing Al to promote human liberation has become a necessary choice to alleviate many ethical concerns related to AI applications.
