The Zetetic Turn in Epistemology and Incessant Checking
In contemporary epistemology, some scholars put forward a new perspective called"the zetetic turn".Friedman argues that the epistemic irra-tionality of incessant checking lies in the presence of irrational doxastic attitudes in the inquiry process.Although this solution has advantages over the ma-instream view,it is difficult to establish and contrary to the zetetic turn's own viewpoint. Finally, this paper proposes a better explanation of incessant checking than Friedman's view, argues that the irrationality lies in the subject's lack of rational reflection on the act of checking.
