真理多元论的双重动机

摘要
真理多元论作为当代真理理论研究的热点,因其解释性强而广受关注和推崇,但其理论动机也长期面临竞争理论的质疑."标量问题"的提出旨在为真理多元论提供进一步辩护:即使"领域问题"得不到良好回答,只要诉诸"标量问题"的辨析,真理多元论依旧有足够的生存空间.通过考察"标量问题"的来源与目标,重新建构"新标量问题",借助颜色实在论的新进展,重审多元论的动机,可以论证:无论是"标量问题"还是"新标量问题",现阶段均无法为真理多元论提供充分的理据.
Abstract
Truth pluralism has gained prominence in contemporary theories of truth,largely due to its robust explanatory power.However,its theoretical motivations have long been challenged by competing accounts.The introduction of the"scalar problem"aims to provide further support for truth plural-ism:even if the"domain problem"remains inadequately addressed,a careful analysis of the scalar problem may still secure a viable space for pluralism.By examining the origins and aims of the scalar problem,reconstructing"new scalar problem",and drawing on recent developments in the realism of col-or,this paper reassesses the motivations for truth pluralism.It ultimately argues that neither the scalar problem nor the new scalar problem,in their cur-rent forms,can provide a sufficient justification for truth pluralism.
