Comparative Analysis of In-situ Observed Value of Orbital Atmospheric Density of China Space Station and the Operational Models
In order to correct and establish the unique atmospheric empirical model of the China Space Station(CSS)and reduce its prediction error to provide data support,the in-situ observed values of atmospheric density of the CSS and the operational model(including the NRLMSISE00 model and the JB2008 model)values from 2022 to 2023 were used to compare and analyze the re-sponse differences of the three datasets in different space environments.The analysis results show that the NRLMSISE00 model value is comparable to the measured value,and its daily average value is about 3.4%higher than the observed value,while the daily average value of the JB2008 model is 27.4%lower than the observed value,especially in the summer of 2023,the observed value is 4~5 times that of the JB2008 model value.Compared with the JB2008 model,the correlation between the NRLMSISE00 model and the observed values is stronger.In terms of solar radiation response,the correlation between the three datasets and solar radiation index is RNRLMSISE00≈RObserved>RJB2008,while the correlation between different solar radiation indices is RS10>RY10>RM10>RF10 from strong to weak.In terms of the density response at different geomagnetic levels,the difference between the NRLMSISE00 model value and the in-situ observed value during the quiet period is mainly concen-trated on the dayside,with a maximum of about 16%,and the JB2008 model value is about 25%lower than the observed value on the dayside,especially on the nightside,which can be as low as 40%.During the moderate and strong magnetic storm,the difference between the NRLMSISE00 model value and the observed value can reach 50%,and the JB2008 model value is 30%higher and 60%lower than the observed value on the dayside-equatorial region and nightside,respectively,in-dicating that there is a significant difference in the response of the JB2008 model during the moder-ate and strong magnetic storm.The results of comprehensive analysis and comparison show that NR-LMSISE00 model is better than JB2008 model in the CSS altitude,and the analysis results also pro-vide a research basis for the correction and use of the operational model.
