Clinical observation on the treatment of rectal stenosis using cutting and thread-drawing seton com-pared with TCM cutting seton
Objective:To observe the treatment of rectal stenosis with cutting and thread-drawing seton and com-pare it with traditional cutting method,and evaluate the clinical efficacy of cutting and thread-drawing seton.Methods:Forty patients with rectal stenosis were randomly assigned into the treatment group and the control group.Perform digital rectal examination at 1 month and 6 months postoperatively to assess the degree of ste-nosis.The patients in treatment group were treated with cutting and thread-drawing seton(i.e.silk thread-drawing seton),while those in the control group were treated with t cutting method.To compare the clinical efficacy,Stenosis caliber score,VAS score,healing time between the two groups were compared.Results:The ef-fective rate of treating rectal stenosis with cutting and thread-drawing seton was 100％.Anal stenosis at 1 and 6 months after surgery was expanded after operation(P＜0.05).The pain score decreased gradually with the wound healing.The average healing time was 28.60±2.85 days after operation,which was lower than that of the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Compared with the cutting method,the modified thread-hanging se-toncan not only ensure the cure rate,effectively improve caliber of the anal and rectal stenosis tube,but also have the advantages of reducing postoperative pain,improving defecation symptoms and accelerating healing time.It is a safe and effective TCM method,which is worthy of clinical application.
