The relationship between sleep structure and essential hypertension
Objective:To explore the correlation between sleep structure from the period of the day from 11 p.m.to 3 a.m.and essential hypertension by using the cardiopulmonary coupling(CPC)sleep analysis technology. Methods:A total of 199 patients were included in this study who were admitted to the International Depart-ment of China-Japan Friendship Hospital from January 2020 to December 2022.According to the results of 24h ambulatory blood pressure monitoring(ABPM),the subjects were divided into hypertension group and nor-mal blood pressure group. The difference of sleep structures during 11 p.m.to 3 a.m.between the two groups was analyzed. The subjects were divided into three groups:good sleep quality group, average sleep quality group and poor sleep quality group according to the overnight sleep quality score obtained from CPC,and the distribution difference of sleep structures among the three groups was analyzed. Results:Compared with normal blood pressure group, hypertension group had a significant difference in the shonened sleep duration and the proportion of deep sleep at 11 p.m.to 3 a.m.(P<0.05).The proportion of deep sleep in the group with poor sleep quality was less than that in the group with good and normal sleep quality, and RDI was higher than that in the group with good and normal sleep quality in one day at 11 p.m.to 3 a.m.(P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression results showed that decreased sleeping proportion(<0.75)at 11 p.m.to 3 a.m.was a risk factor leading to essential hypertension. Conclusion:Abnormal sleep structure may be a risk factor affecting the incidence of essential hypertension.
