The effect of Miao medicine Periploca forrestii on the number of Th22 cells and the expression levels of IL-17,IL-22,and IL-35 in CIA rats
Objective To observe the effects of Miao medicine Periploca forrestii on the number of Th22 cells and the expression levels of IL-17,IL-22,and IL-35 in CIA rats. Methods Sixty CIA rats were randomLy divided into normal control group, model control group, positive control group(Tripterygium wilfordii glycosides tablets,9.45 mg/kg),Periploca forrestii low-dose group(22 mg/kg),medium-dose group(44 mg/kg),and high-dose group(67 mg/kg),with 10 rats in each group. The CIA model in rats was established and given medication for 21 consecutive days. The serum levels of IL-17,IL-22,and IL-35 and the number of Th22 cells were measured, and the performance of foot tissue under microscopy was observed. Results Compared with the model control group, the positive control group,Periploca forrestii low-dose group,medium-dose group, and high-dose group showed a significant decrease in the levels of IL-17,IL-22,and the proportion of Th22 cells, while the level of IL-35 in serum significantly increased. The high-dose group of Periploca forrestii was superior to the positive control group in reducing the levels of IL-17,IL-22 in serum and increasing the level of IL-35.Conclusion Periploca forrestii can reduce the number of Th22 cells, regulate the expression of cytokines such as IL-17,IL-22,and IL-35,play a role in reducing the activation and infiltration of inflammatory cells, inhibiting joint inflammation, thereby slowing down the progression of RA.
