Progress of photohydrolysis for hydrogen production from metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)materials
With the worsening problems of global warming, environmental pollution and energy shortage, the development of green and renewable energy sources is imminent.Hydrogen preparation by photocatalytic water splitting is an ideal strategy for achieving higher levels of sustainability.Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)materials have become a research hotspot in this field due to their structural controllability, high porosity and unique semiconductor properties.Scholars at home and abroad have conducted a lot of research on their use for hydrogen production from photocatalytic water splitting and have made some progress. In this paper,we systematically summarize the application of photocatalysts based on MOFs materials and their composites in photocatalytic water splitting for hydrogen production, analyze the reasons for their efficient hydrogen production and possible hydrogen production mechanisms, and summarize the advantages and limitations of MOFs-based photocatalysts in hopes of providing references for the development of new and efficient MOFs photocatalysts.
