Chemical degradation of waste polyethylene terephthalate plastics
Plastic products are widely used in daily life and work, and the huge consumption means huge amount of waste. With the increasing amount of waste plastics and the growing pollution problem, the disposal of waste plastics has gradually become an important part of the development strategy. In this paper,a non-metallic acetic acid catalyst was used to achieve one-step chemical degradation of polyethylene terephthalate(PET)plastics to obtain bis(hydroxyethyl)terephthalate(BHET)monomer, which has the advantages of higher catalytic efficiency and no metal residue in the product compared with the commonly used metal catalytic system, and has a broad application prospect, and it is a kind of advanced high-value utilisation technology for waste plastics.
