A Study of Conceptual Metonymy and Empathy Effects in Pet Hospital from the Perspective of Communication Rhetoric
Pet Hospital is the first pet medical observation reality show in China.It uses documentary shooting techniques to shape visual communication symbols with potential metonymy and emotional resonance.Based on communication rhetoric,this paper transplants Burke's drama theory of"five in one"and the element of"attitude"added and perfected later to classify the program text symbols.At the same time,text analysis from the perspective of qualitative research is used as the research method,based on scholar Liu Tao's"visual metonymy theoretical framework",and empathy effect is taken as the research objective.Starting from the metonymy relations of iconicity and statute,the ontological characteristics and meaning of metaphor of conceptual metonymy in the program are studied and discussed,as well as the empathy effect generated by conceptual metonymy.In addition,in the study of empathy effect,the"empathy rhetoric"research method established by scholar Hu Fanzhu is introduced to realize the connection with conceptual metonymy study in the sense of rhetoric,and the content construction of empathy effect research itself.
