On the Acceptance of Li Bai by The First Seven Scholars from Yuefu Poems
"The First Seven Scholars"were the most famous literary schools during the Ming Hongzhi and Zhengde periods. In order to eliminate the weakness and redundant literary scene in the early Ming Dynasty, they launched a retro movement in the middle of the Ming Dynasty with the slogan"Literature must be in the pre-Qin and Han dynasties, and poetry must be in the Han,Wei,and prosperous Tang dynasties".As a symbol of the prosperous Tang dynasty,Li Bai's Yuefu poems naturally became the main object of study for"The First Seven Scholars".Their Yuefu poems not only adopted the sentences in Li Bai's poems, imitated his typical images, inherited his bold and elegant poetic style, but also accepted the essence of Li Bai's"Ancient Yuefu".It is embodied in the following characteristics:the continuation and development of the story of Yuefu poetry, the simulation of the separation and integration of ancient Yuefu poetry, and the simulation and development of Yuefu poetry, showing an obvious tendency to learn from Li Bai.This is closely related to the similar cultural background, poetry theory, life experience and personality temperament of the"The First Seven Scholars"and Li Bai.
