The Construction of Modernity and Its Reflection in the Wengding Village,with Architectural Anthropology also Discussed
Modernity often refers to the orientation of worldviews and values in our contemporary society.It is specifically manifested as the ideology and behaviors that are in line with the material and spiritual needs of modern society.Wengding,an ethnic Wa village,can be regarded as a glaring example of the construction of modernity in contemporary China.In present article Wengding is taken for example to analyze and explore its construction of modernity as well as its pros and cons from the perspective of architectural anthropology in order to provide reference for the currently on-going rural reconstruction and residential renovation movement.For architectural anthropology itself,it is necessary to strengthen researches in the modern construction of traditional settlements and dwellings.
