Study on non-destructive testing technology of clay brick made with glass addition
The objective of this paper is to evaluate the effects of the addition of broken household glass to a clay mixture on the properties of handmade bricks. For this purpose, nondestructive testing techniques are used to characterize solid bricks made from two mineralogically different clays(one rich in carbonate adhesives, while the other rich in silicate clay),with or without glass additives. To assess whether the firing temperature affects the aesthetics of the brick, the characteristics of the brick are tested using methods such as video microscopy, radiography,Leeb hardness testing, ultrasonic pulse testing and compressive strength.
