Study on effect of blending polymeric waste on thermal efficiency and durability of fired clay bricks
This study uses expanded polystyrene(EPS)and waste rubber tire powder(WRTP)in fired clay bricks to achieve environmentally friendly and clean construction.Different proportions of EPS and WRTP are mixed with clay and fired at 1000℃,advanced material characterization techniques are used to evaluate the material, and physical, mechanical and durability tests are carried out on the bricks.High doses of EPS and WRTP improve the thermal efficiency of bricks and reduce the weight of bricks. The study provides valuable insights into the potential applications of EPS and WRTP in the production of clean and sustainable polymer waste bricks to improve brick performance and effective waste management in the construction industry.
