Geological characteristics of a brick and tile shale deposit in Kashgar,Xinjiang
A brick and tile shale mine in Kashgar,Xinjiang,is located in the Meso-Cenozoic depression basin of southwest Tarim on top of the Tarim central massif,and is mainly found in the Upper Neogene Upper Eo-cene Artush Formation(N2a)strata,which is a gentle monocline stratum dipping to the south and east.The ore body is shale and silty shale,and through the analysis of the ore body characteristics and ore characteristics of the deposit,it is shown that the shale ore in this area can be used as a raw material for bricks and tiles.
