As a defensive building,the ancient Chinese city wall not only has a practical function,but also con-tains a wealth of construction technology and aesthetic value.In terms of masonry technology,the ancient Chi-nese city wall has undergone the evolution process from the ramming method to the masonry method,and some of the ancient city walls have stood for thousands of years,and the materials and skills used in the masonry of these city walls are worth learning from.In terms of aesthetic value,the ramming method shows the beauty of simplicity and simplicity,the layered ramming technology shows the rhythmic beauty of the city wall,and the brick firing and grinding brick jointing process in the masonry mixing method shows the beauty of materials.These beauties contained in the masonry techniques of the city walls reflect the wisdom and skills of ancient craftsmen and are worthy of in-depth study.Based on this,some construction techniques of ramming method and masonry mixing method and their intrinsic aesthetic value are introduced.
