Pathogenicity of Alternaria alternata on different jujube varieties in Xinjiang
The objective of the study is to elucidate the occurrence of jujube black spot and the pathogenicity of Alternaria alternata on different jujube varieties in Aksu and Hetian. The occurrence of jujube black spot on 13 ju-jube varieties were surveyed by sampling in five locations, and the pathogenicity of A .alternata was investigated by agar disk containing mycelium. The results showed that the occurrence of the disease on ‘Junzao’and ‘Huping-zao’were the most severe in the field, with an incidence of more than 30%;the disease did not occur on ‘Yuan-cuizao’,‘Mayazao’and ‘Wild jujube’.The pathogenicity of A .alternata on the fruits of ‘Junzao’and ‘Huping-zao’were much stronger, with a disease index ≥40,while the pathogenicity on ‘Huizao’,‘Dongzao’,‘Zanhuan-gzao’and ‘Mayazao’were very weak. The results may provide a theoretical basis for the selection of jujube varie-ties resistant to black spot disease.
