Field efficacy of soil treatment with mixture of phoxim and phorate on Agriphila aeneociliella during autumn wheat sowing
In recent years,a new wheat insect pest,Agriphila aeneociliella ,occurred in Laizhou (Shandong)and Zezhou (Jincheng,Shanxi),causing large-scale seedling lack, even destroying the whole sowing. In 3 towns 24 villages of all the A .aeneociliella appearance districts in Zezhou County, field efficacy of soil treatment with the mixture of phoxim and phorate by different operating modes in autumn chemical control was investigated against the pest in spring. The results showed that, compared with severe damage in the spring of 2013 without autumn chemical control previously, the larva population density and the total occurrence area were reduced significantly in the spring of 2014 after soil treatment in autumn of 2013.Furthermore,unified control mode had better effica-cy than farmer’s spray. In unified controlling fields, the larva population density were reduced to zero, while in farmer’s spraying fields, the larva population remained and damage were still observed to some extent.
