Advances in lesser rice-field rat,Rattus losea(Rodentia:Muridae)in China
Rattus losea is an important agricultural pest rat distributed in the southern regions of the Yangtze River in China and Southeast Asia.It has a wide range of habitats, displays omnivorous behavior, and poses a threat to various crops. It also serves as a host and transmitter for several diseases. In this review,we provided a detailed summary of the research progresses on R.losea, mainly including its morphological characteristics, population genetics, biological characteristics, population ecology, drug resistance, and control techniques.According to the current research status and challenges,a comprehensive prevention and control technology system for sustainable management of R.losea was proposed. This system emphasizes the development of new technologies and products, prioritizing ecological and environmental considerations alongside accurate prediction.
