Field effects of Metarhizium anisopliae CQMa421 against Aphis gossypii and Apolygus lucorum
Cotton is an important cash crop in China.Damage caused by insect pests severely limit cotton production and cause economic losses for cotton farmers. At present, chemical insecticides are still the main means of controlling insect pests in cotton. In this study,Metarhizium anisopliae CQMa421 oil dispersion was used to control cotton aphid(Aphis gossypii Glover)and cotton mirid(Apolygus lucorum).Laboratory results showed that CQMa421 could infect cotton aphid and mirid effectively, and its virulence to cotton aphid and mirid increased with the increase of concentration. In cotton fields,8 billion spores/mL M.anisopliae CQMa421 oil dispersion can effectively control major cotton pests A.gossypii and A.lucorum.14 days after the treatment, control efficacy on A.gossypii was 94.42%with the dosage of 1 200 mL/hm2,87.25%on L.lucorumin Xinjiang and 91.62%in Hubei with the dosage of 1 350 mL/hm2,respectively.
