Effects of sweet potato black rot on seedlings growth and control efficacy of soaking storage roots with fungicides
In order to determine effects of sweet potato black rot on seedlings growth and control efficacy of soaking storage roots with trifloxystrobin·iprodione 25%SC,the sprouting, growth, amount of seedlings and infected rate were investigated in each treatment by artificial inoculation and soaking storage roots with fungicide solution. The results showed there was no significant difference in the number of sprouts per kilogram of storage roots between inoculated treatments and uninoculated treatments and there was no significant difference in the number of sprouts by soaking storage roots with trifloxystrobin·iprodione 25%SC at different concentrations.Compared with the uninoculated treatments, the amount of seedlings of contaminated storage roots and contaminated substrate without soaking storage roots treatments decreased by 43.97%and 59.82%,respectively.When storage roots were soaked with trifloxystrobin·iprodione 25%SC at 500 mg/L,the amount of seedlings of contaminated storage roots and contaminated substrate treatments were 74.12 and 69.56 seedlings per kilogram of storage roots, respectively, and the same treatment in the infected seed bed were 126.92 and 85.31 seedlings, respectively, which were all significantly higher than those for non-soaked treatment. In summary, the sprouts of storage roots can be infected with contaminated storage roots or contaminated seedbeds, causing dead seedlings, growth stagnation and sweet potato seedlings carrying Ceratocystis fimbriata, which is the main reason for the reduction amount of seedlings.Soaking storage roots with trifloxystrobin·iprodione 25%SC can reduce sweet potato black rot on seedlings and increase the amount of seedlings.
