Screening of insecticides for thrips control in pomegranate and decrement and synergism effect of spray adjuvants
This study aimed to screen insecticides for control thrips in pomegranate and evaluate the decrement and synergism effect of spray adjuvants.Field control effects of 12 insecticides against thrips in pomegranate were investigated, and the effects of adding 0.05%organosilicon Silwet 408,mineral oil and aloe essential oil additives to the imidacloprid 450 g/L ME with a reduction of 10%and 20%according to the conventional dosage, respectively,on physical properties and field control effect were determined. The results showed that 12 insecticides had good field control effects on thrips in pomegranate.Based on the dosage of 667 m2,10 mL of imidacloprid 450 g/L ME,30 mL of spinetoram 60 g/L SC,20 mL of spinosad 10%SC,40 mL of chlorfenapyr 240 g/L SC and 30 mL of thiamethoxam 25%WG have high control effects, and could be used as temporary recommended agents for controlling thrips in pomegranate.Added three kinds of spray additives could significantly reduce the surface tension, increase the expansion diameter and retention, and improve the control efficacy.Control efficacy of adding additives was significantly higher than that of their own single agent at the same concentration.By adding organosilicon Silwet 408 or mineral oil,the dosage of imidacloprid 450 g/L ME could be reduced 20%,and 10%by adding aloe essential oil, compared with the conventional dosage. In production, three spray adjuvants could be added to the imidacloprid 450 g/L ME for thrips control in pomegranate to realize decrement and synergism.
