Indoor toxicity and field control efficacy of nine insecticides to Planococcus vovae(Nassonov)
Planococcus vovae(Nassonov)is one of important alien invasive insect pest in China in recent years. This study aims to assess the toxicity of nine insecticides to P.vovae by indoor bioassay and field experiment to screen out the effective pesticides. The dipping method was adopted for the indoor toxicity bioassay, and the foliar spray method for field efficacy trials. The toxicity test showed that afidopyropen(LC50=2.59 mg/L)had the highest toxicity to the 2nd instar nymphs of P.vovae, followed by dinotefuran(LC50=6.94 mg/L)and imidacloprid(LC50=7.02 mg/L).Field efficacy trials indicated that afidopyropen 50 g/L dispersible liquid 5 000 fold solution, thiamethoxam 70%water-dispersible granule 10 000 fold solution and dinotefuran 50%wettable powder 5 000 fold solution reached to 90.32%-94.06%of control efficacy at 15 d after the insecticide spray. The most suitable insecticides for control of P.vovae are afidopyropen 50 g/L dispersible liquid, thiamethoxam 70%water-dispersible granules,350 g/L imidacloprid suspension and 50%dinotefuran wettable powder.
