Major issues in the application of insect-proof screens in China and potential solutions
Insect-proof screens serve as a physical barrier and are commonly used for agricultural pest control,which also can effectively block and prevent the transmission of insect-borne diseases.They play a crucial role in the green prevention and control techniques system for plant diseases and pests.The promotion and application of insect-proof screens are important measures for reducing chemical pesticides use and advancing green,high-quality agricultural development.At present,there are several issues with insect-proof screens in China,including inadequate theoretical research,practical application challenges,limited technical trainings,and insufficient science popularization.This paper summarizes these prominent problems,such as the unscientific emphasis on"mesh"as the main principle and the lack of fundamental research for effective application.We propose several recommendations to address these issues:developing new insect-proof screen technologies,strengthening application research,focusing on technique integration,establishing and revising relevant standards,enhancing science popularization,and supporting key applications.These suggestions aim to provide a reference for the scientific application and promotion of insect-proof screens.
