The application of problem-based learning and case-based study in the practice teaching of general surgery
Objective To investigate the effect of the application of problem-based learning and case-based study in the practice teaching of general surgery. Methods 80 cases of students were randomly divided into the observation group and control group, each group has 40 cases. The observation group received the problem-based learning and case-based study methods while the control group received the traditional teaching methods. Four weeks later, al the students received the basic theory test and clinical comprehensive ability assessment. Results The score of the basic theory test and clinical comprehensive ability assessment of the observation group were both higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistical y significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The problem-based learning and case-based study methods is better than the traditional teaching methods, it should be widely used.
