Short-term effect of laparoscopy-assisted radical proximal gastrectomy for advanced stomach carcinoma
Objective To explore the feasibility and efficacy of laparoscopy-assisted radical proximal gastrectomy. Methods The clinical data of 36 cases received laparoscopy-assisted proximal radical gastrectomy(group LAPG) from September 2011 to October 2013 and 42 cases received open proximal gastrectomy (group OPG) at the same period in our hospital were compared. The difference of perioperative indicators and immune parameters were primarily compared between the two groups. Results The surgical margin and the number of harvested lymph nodes, compared with group OPG was no significant difference(P>0.05).The mean operation time, amount of bleeding, first flatus and frequency of analgesics use of group LAPG were less than those of group OPG(P<0.05);the nutrition and immune parameters were better than those of group OPG( P<0.05). Conclusion Laparoscopic-assisted gastrectomy is feasible and safe for patients with proximal advanced stomach carcinoma. The short-term outcomes of the procedure is favorable, but the long-term outcome remains uncertain.
