objective to understand the epidemic characteristics of Ankang city and the incidence trend of mumps in recent 10 years, and provide basis for the prevention and control of epidemic parotitis. Methods: al the data were processed by EXCEL software, to describe the incidence and distribution of three mumps. Results 9674 cases were reported in Ankang during 2005-2013 epidemic parotitis, died in 2 cases, including 816 cases of 0-4 years old the incidence of 1048 cases, 5-9 4224 cases, 10-14 years of age at onset of disease in 3051 cases, 15-19 535 cases, patients aged above 20 years old the incidence. Is the report public health emergencies caused by mumps outbreak in 16, al of which occurred in school 10, primary school, middle school 6. Serious impact on children's physical and mental health, disturbed the normal teaching order of the school.Conclusion the age group of 5-14 years old is the peak incidence of mumps, early prevention and control mumps epidemic prevention work of the school is the outbreak of communicable diseases.
