Objective To investigate the impact of structured group psychological intervention on the survival quality, emotion, social support and coping in breast cancer patients after chemotherapy. Methods A total of 46 patients with breast cancer after chemotherapy were subjected in this study. They then received a 10-week structured group interview. Before and in 4 weeks after the interview, al patients were investigated by the scale of QLQ-C30, self-rating depression scale (SDS), self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) , social support rating scale (SSRS) and trait coping style questionnaire. Results The scores of SDS, SAS, pain, fatigue, anhelation, loss of appetite, insomnia, constipation and diarrhea were dropped down ( t= 2. 907~6.314, P=0.000~0. 006), and the scores of social function, emotional function, role function, positive coping style and SSRS were increased ( t= -5.476~-2.237,P =0. 000~0.032) significantly in 4 weeks after the end of interview than those before. Conclusion structured group psychological intervention has significant impact on the survival quality, emotional status, coping styles and social support of the breast cancer patients after chemotherapy.
