Objective: To discuss the method of minimal y invasive treatment for fracture of middle and lower segment of tibia. Method: 66 patients with fracture of middle and lower segment of tibia were treated with minimal y invasive percutaneous insertion of steel plate (observation group) and open reduction and internal fixation (control group) separately. Impacts of the two treatment methods on conditions of fracture healing and ankle joint recovery were analyzed. Result: Surgical length of incision and hospital stays of observation group were obviously shorter than control group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference between postoperative healing time of the 2 groups. On treatment indicators evaluated by Johnner-wruhs standard, no significant difference existed between the 2 groups (P>0.05). Conclusion: Minimal y invasive percutaneous insertion of steel plate for treatment of fracture of middle and lower segment of tibia has advantages of convenience, reliability, smal wound surface, low infection rate and benefit for soft tissue recovery and fracture healing, so it is an ideal internal fixation method and worth of being popularized in clinical application.
