Objective: To explore the common causes of maternal postpartum urinary retention and effective interventions. Method: During February 2010 to December 2013, 64 cases of maternal postpartum urinary retention were retrospectively analyzed Results : The group of 64 cases were giving education and psychological care, and create a favorable environment to urinate, the use of conditioned reflex induced urination, physical methods to promote urination, relieve wound pain, acupuncture, Chinese medicine, and other personalized catheterization of nursing measures, and al of them were recovered. Conclusions: In clinical work, postpartum urinary retention interventions are effective, and cause analysis of maternal urinary retention and care is closely related to personalized care intervention, prevention and treatment of postpartum urinary retention play a crucial role.
