Objective Comparing the curative effect of combination of pinaverium bromide and deanxit with for the treating of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Methods 30 cases of IBS were randomly divided into treated group (15 cases) and control group (15 cases), al of them were hospitalized from March, 2009 to March, 2012. There were 12 males and 18 females in the subjects, aging from 22 to 61 and 44.2 in average. The treated group was administered with the combination of pinaverium bromide and deanxit, while the control group was given oryzanol and nifidipine. Results Comparing the symptoms of abdominal pain, ventosity, constipation, defecation >3 times per day or loose stool, non-smooth diarrhea and strenuous defecation between two groups, and total effective rate of the treated group was higher than that of the control group, with significant differences (p<0.05). Conclusion The combined use of pinaverium bromide and deanxit has definitive clinical therapeutic effects on treating IBS, and it is convenient and safe, and able to control intestinal symptoms, al eviate discomfort and relieve mental symptoms, so that the aim of comprehensive treatment of disease and improvement of the quality of life can be achieved.
