objective To investigate the relationship between hyperuricemia and metabolic syndrome. [Methods]A total of 1163 subjects who received health examination in Wuxi People’s hospital from Oct.2010 tO Jan.2011 were enrol ed in our study.[Results]Considering the detection rate of compositions of metabolic syndrome,the prevalence of hyperuricemia group was significantly higher than the non-hyperurieemia group.With cluster of metabolic syndrome components,prevalence rate of hyperuricemia were increased. [Conclusion]The relationship between compositions of hyperuricemia and metabolic syndrome was close,suggesting that hyperuricemia might serve as one of the compositions of metabolic syndrome. It is important that hyperuricemia and metabolie syndrome should be prevented and treated early.
